IT-Support for Teamwork in Care Processes

Health Care organisations are changing, focus is shifting from isolated measures to processes performed by teams. This study aims to investigate the need for ITsupport in the creation of teams for care processes, from the point of view of ten personnel at a hospital and linked primary and municipal care involved in the care processes for diabetes. Discoveries from the empirical study are discussed in the light of Computer Supported Co-operative Work. IT-support is applicable for making personnel aware of the development within the team of care processes and it would increase the overall efficiency in the exchange of information and so improve the quality of care.
